PETROS KTENAS

Petros Ktenas is an Australian photographer and filmmaker known for cinematic automotive and lifestyle imagery, and honest, character-driven portraits of people doing remarkable things.
Named among Lürzer’s Archive Top 200 Photographers Worldwide (2022/21) and Top 200 Digital Artists (2024/23), Petros has spent more than 15 years creating images for advertising, editorial and commercial clients across Australia and internationally.
His work sits somewhere between the precision of advertising photography and the instinct of documentary filmmaking. Whether photographing a car on an open road, a founder inside the business they built, or someone quietly changing the world around them, Petros is interested in images that feel cinematic without feeling manufactured.
Increasingly, his focus is on people and stories that matter: founders, innovators, leaders, craftspeople and everyday people doing extraordinary things. Drawing on his experience as a cinéma vérité documentary director and cinematographer, he works observationally, allowing real moments, personality and emotion to emerge rather than over-directing them.
That same philosophy informs his automotive and lifestyle work. Beautiful light, strong composition and considered production remain important, but the image needs to feel lived-in. Real people. Real environments. Real moments.
For Petros, photography is ultimately about storytelling.
Finding something worth looking at, understanding why it matters, and making an image that makes someone else feel it too.
